Key

I wanted to have a key for the different type of posts I do, just as a quick reference.

-In's and Out's: What's in and out for this season, month, or the time being. These are my opinions and I'm not an expert.
-Mascara Review Series: My ongoing series of mascara reviews.
-Review/Overview: An in-depth review and/or overview of a product or certain group of products.
-Current Obsession: A product or group of products that I am currently enjoying and want to share. It's usually a quick blurb and pictures.
-Crap Product: I will be posting monthly crap product reviews, however, sometimes these are videos on my channel.
-Rediscovered: A product I have not used in awhile, but recently took out to see if it was worth giving another chance.

--There will be more added as I keep posting!

Milani Distinct Lash Review

  • Price:$6.49(but I paid around $4) Cherry Culture
  • Ease of Application:Very easy, only a few swipes needed
  • Ease of Removal:Average, any remover will work- most likely
  • Brush:Plastic comb-like and large
  • Wear:Has never flaked or ran on me
  • Lengthening Abilities:AMAZING- completely elongates my lashes
  • Multiplication of Lashes:Average

I have to say, Milani Distinct Lash is one of my all time favorite mascaras. It's super inexpensive(check KMart ladies!) and makes my lashes look super long. I would definitely try this even if you aren't a huge fan of the plastic wands. With the pictures you'll see it does what it claims- lengthens and separates.

Mascara Review-Intro

I'm starting a review series(unless I get lazy LOL) on mascaras. I find it to be MUCH easier to review mascaras on a blog rather then on a video. So anyway, it'll be a specific format and a picture for each review.
  • Price
  • Ease of Application
  • Ease of Removal
  • Brush
  • Wear
  • Lengthening Abilities
  • Multiplication of Lashes
I'm sure I'll add a small little rant/rave at the end. Hopefully I'll have a picture of my lashes with the mascara on them.

Also I wanted to state in this post that mascaras are hard to review because no one has the same lashes. What works for me won't necessarily work for you. The best way to test these mascaras is to try them, especially since some of these are $3-4.

Japan..

So I thought I'd do a quick post on Japan and all of the awful stuff that's going on right now over there.

Well, actually, I am not doing a post ON what's happening, but ways to help. I'm sure you're saturated with  different ways to help and donate, etc. but I feel the need to reach out to those(even though there are not many) who will read this. Here's a link to a Yahoo article on donating.

American Red Cross
Save the Children
Salvation Army

You can choose how much you donate, though it's a $10 minimum. If you can't afford to donate then I hope you'll keep Japan in your thoughts and prayers.

New NYX Stuff!

I have a small NYX haul with some swatches. I'll admit, NYX isn't my favorite brand, mostly due to the disappointment I suffered with their matte eyeshadows, but I saw on Bentley Blonde's YouTube channel, here, that they had new matte lip glosses and I was soooo excited. I couldn't find them anywhere for awhile, but recently my Ulta reorganized their drugstore makeup section and added these.

Soft Matte Lip Cream
Istanbul
This is the first one I saw and I thought it would be a nice neutral pink with a small pop of color. It's a little brighter than that! It's really pretty, and I would recommend this as a good starting point to trying these.

Soft Matte Lip Cream
Antwerp
I haven't quite tried this on my lips yet(although it's one of my favorite shades ever...so far) but it really looks  amazing in the tube and on my hand.

The texture of these is odd, it's almost a super creamy gloss at first but then dries to a matte lipstick. It's not moisturizing, but does not feel drying until it's been on the lips for around 3 hours. Which, coincidentally, is when it starts looking nasty.

Mega Shine Lip Gloss
Natural
I have been wanting to try these glosses for awhile, but I haven't gotten the chance. I have to say, on one end I am impressed with the pigmentation and coverage of these glosses but I'm disappointed at how thick they are. It kind of reminds me of the new Lady Gaga gloss, but then again I haven't seen it in person.

Eyeshadow
Sahara
I swatched this ages ago and fell in love!!! To me, this is a color everyone needs. It can be used as a lid color, a highlight, or even to blend out some shadows. It's very versatile, and has a great texture.

Here are some other pictures. I wanted to take pictures of the glosses on my lips, but that'll have to be in another post because I'm exhausted and want to get this post up. Sorry!

Ins and Outs of March 2011

I haven't done one of these in awhile, and I thought maybe I should just do a quick Ins and Outs before the start of the beautiful springtime. I know my list isn't super long, but that's mostly because these things change so often. Also, this is my opinion and it needs to be taken as that. I hope you enjoy!

In
Bright colors!!!
-I cannot believe how happy I am about this. If you've seen my videos then you may know I'm a fan of the neutral eye with the bright, sexy lips. And they're IN for this spring! I suggest an orange(I have a lip tutorial for that...) or even a fuchsia.

Copper/Orange Eyes
-I can't say I'm in love with this trend(mostly because it looks awful on me), but it can look absolutely gorgeous, especially on blue eyes.

Cream Blush
-Okay, so I know this is kind of stupid...but cream blush is SO hot right now. Especially with the release of MAC Cremeblend Blush as part of their permanent line(by the way they are AMAZING. I've had So Sweet, So Easy from Lilyland for awhile now). I suggest putting them under your foundation so the color stays all day and looks natural.

Out
Natural Face
-Well, this is a hard one. I have to say, barely there makeup is always in style but this season it seems like there's no room for that due to all of these amazing colors.

Tanning
-Being golden and sunkissed is gorgeous. Being orange and splotchy is not! I am not against tanning but take care of your skin, girls! Opt for creams and sprays instead of laying out for multiple hours or laying in a tanning bed. I'll admit, it is tempting(being a fair-skinned girl myself) to want to be bronzed but it's not worth it! You can get that glow in so many other ways.

My Current Obsession

I think I may make a quick video on this...I started doing a 'Crap Product' monthly video, so I might as well do an 'Outstanding Product' monthly video. But anyway, I'll post it here first. My current stand out product has been the Wet N Wild Comfort Zone palette. Seriously, it is FANTASTIC. I'll admit, I hate one color in it(the pink looking one...it comes off orange!) but the rest are gorgeous. But the main reason I love it is because the darkest brown color is my holy grail eyeliner! I'll post pictures(prior to my camera not working) so you can see how nice it looks with a neutral and simple eye.

Don't mind the funky brows! Haha. But seriously, if you see the palette...you should definitely pick it up. I know this is like beating a dead horse but it's great, even for one shadow.
